During their lunch break, students from Kfar Chabad travel to Lod International Airport, only a few kilometers away, to put tefillin on the pilots and airport staff. Later the Chabadniks set up a permanent booth, a mini "Chabad House," in the airport terminal. This booth is staffed from dusk until dawn, affording those departing the country the opportunity to don tefillin one last time on the holy soil.
